The morning of 31st March 2020 both Pymm & Co Estate Agents & Lettings directors Steve Pymm and Stuart Monument gave their opinion on the state of the property market during the current coronavirus pandemic on BBC Radio Norfolk.
Speaking on the breakfast show on BBC Radio Norfolk with host Chris Goreham at 7.34am the Pymm & Co directors were asked for their opinion on the state of the property market while everyone is still coming to terms with the coronavirus outbreak. Steve Pymm is the director of the Pymm & Co Sales Estate Agents said that at the moment house sales were still going through and last week they completed on 10 sales. These were legally obligated to be completed and the dates were set before the lockdown enforced by the Government on the 25th March. Adhering to the recommended 2-meters social distancing, removals were able to be carried out.
Steve and his team though are all working from home, in touch with conveyancing and solicitors via phone, email and video conferencing and so the house sales can get through for the moment. However moving forward they obviously expect that the market will slow down as we are expected to all stay self at home for roughly 3 months and so no one can go to a potential house viewing. Although remote viewings and video walk throughs are available there is still no substitute for being at a physical viewing. Steve also said that there is no evidence that the market house prices are set to tumble as the public are happy to wait to both move out and move in.
The same was said by Stuart Monument, director of the Pymm & Co Lettings where many landlords and tenants are worried about what the future holds. Stuart said that at this moment they were not experiencing any issues with their tenants and landlords but to reiterate that the Pymm & Co offices remain contactable should anyones position changes.
Steve rounded off his interview by looking at a positive. His views were that once we start to come out of the current coronavirus outbreak and the public have been in lockdown for a possible 3 months, people will be wanting to move to a bigger house!!!
Every cloud has a silver lining so to speak!
If you want to get in touch with any of the Pymm & Co team, whether sales or lettings then either ring or email and the team will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have on the property market now and in the upcoming months.
