On the 27th March 2022, Pymm & Co Estate Agents in Norwich Managing Director Steve Pymm and Loads4Less Managing Director Adam Soall partnered up to deliver essential supplies to the Poland – Ukraine border.
Setting off from Norwich after loading up the Loads4Less van with essential supplies donated by the generous Norfolk community, Steve and Adam took an overnight ferry from Harwich docks across the waters to the Hook of Holland and then making their way to Ukraine via Dresden in Germany. The partnership returned back to the UK on Thursday 31st March where their ferry journey with Stena Line was given free along with food and a cabin, which was greatly appreciated by the pair after a long journey on the road.
The pair personally delivered 3.5 tonnes of essential items which included medicine, sanitisers, sanitary towels and bandages for civilians and the soldiers fighting for the Ukrainian army. “It really pulls on the heartstrings because it makes you realise how desperate the situation is for them,” Adam added. “We wanted to see what else we could do.”
Steve commented “We have now set up a JustGiving page to try and help further. We want to send out five more vans over the coming weeks to help the people of Ukraine.”
Both Steve and Adam are looking to raise £10,000 so they can deliver further humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people, where all the money raised will be going to transport costs to deliver the essential items. We are also asking for members of the public and local community to donate as much as they can in essential items that they would like to be sent to the Ukraine people. We are also working closely with Norfolk Polonia who are a Polish Centre in Norwich and located at the West Earlham Community Centre.
